Moving Image

Sophie Collier began working with film & video in the year 2000, and working with moving image has been central to her studio practice ever since. She specialised in Film & Performance whilst at the Ruskin, Oxford University, where she received an excellent education in film & video production, and learned a huge amount from her time spent in the Oxford University Media Production Unit (where she virtually ended up living...)

More recently, she studied Sculpture & Moving Image at the Royal College of Art, London, graduating in 2015. She has produced 100+ titles, a mix of narrative films, installation work, filmed performances and other time-based moving image. Collier enjoys working in a wide range of media, and her work varies frequently from simple quick works shot on a phone to more elaborate and higher spec crewed productions. She is an experienced director, screen writer, cinematographer and editor, mostly having learned on the job, either in her own productions or working with others.
